July 2010 — CIGNA Hosts Gulf Coast Diversity Council’s Quarterly Lunch and Learn with Executives
Earlier this month, the CIGNA office in Houston hosted the Gulf Coast Diversity Council’s Quarterly Lunch & Learn with Executives. The event was designed as a development opportunity for associates from member companies to have the chance to hear from executives outside their organization.
Participants from such companies as KPMG, State Farm, CenterPoint Energy, Cricket Communications, and CIGNA – to name just a few – enjoyed a panel discussion on “Succeeding in a Changing Environment.”
CIGNA’s guest panelists included Brian Wallach, Regional Vice President for Medical Cost Management; William Crombie, Vice President, National Accounts; and Charon Porter, Human Resources Manager, Central Region. The group discussed several topics, including the key traits of an effective change leader, how to thrive in a changing environment, and strategies for managing your career in an uncertain work environment.
The panel was moderated by Paula McHam, Director of Client & Community Affairs for CIGNA South Texas; Paula serves as President of the Gulf Coast Diversity Council. Participating in the Lunch & Learn was another great opportunity for the Houston office to truly impact the local community on how Diversity Management can positively impact the workplace and work environment.
