Laura Hyatt is STEM Sr. Director for Legacy Prep a 17-year educator whose first became interested in the field while still in the business world. After completing her undergraduate studies, she worked for an insurance company for eleven years. Within those eleven years she had the opportunity to be a Corporate Trainer, Regional Trainer, and Supervisor responsible for training new employees. As a public school, K-12 educator, Laura Hyatt has taught grades three, four, five, and seven. She has been a Central Office staff member in various positions such as Middle School Mathematics Lead Teacher, District-wide STEM Manager, and currently, as STEM Sr. Director. She believes in the power, and future, of STEM careers, and is concerned about the severe lack of diversity within STEM fields. She sees her greatest role going forward as a partnership-builder with STEM stakeholders, including businesses, communities, educators, and non- and for- profit organizations.
