Valerie is vice president and manufacturing manager for Flint Hills Resources, LLC.

Based in Wichita, Kansas, Flint Hills Resources is an industry leader in refining, chemicals, and biofuels and ingredients, with operations primarily in Texas and the Midwest. Its manufacturing capability is built upon six decades of refining experience, and the company has expanded its operations through capital projects and acquisitions worth more than $11 billion since 2002. Flint Hills Resources has more than 5,000 employees.

Flint Hills Resources subsidiaries produce and market gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, asphalt, ethanol, biodiesel, liquid natural gas, olefins, polymers, intermediate chemicals, as well as base oils, distillers corn oil and distillers grains.

The company also owns an interest in Excel Paralubes; a base lube oil facility in Westlake, Louisiana; holds equity investments in bioenergy companies and is equipping a biodiesel plant in Beatrice, Nebraska, to begin operation in 2016.

Valerie oversees operations at the company’s Corpus Christi refineries and chemical production facility, as well as its Ingleside crude oil terminal.

She started her career with Flint Hills Resources in 2001, and has held a variety of roles, including technical services manager, reliability center manager, and reliability engineer. Most recently, Valerie was production manager overseeing fuels and chemicals operations at Corpus Christi.

Before joining FHR, Valerie spent more than a decade working with other major oil and contract service companies throughout the United States.

Valerie earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Trine University in Angola, Ind.
