Laura Vaccaro is the Vice President for Community Relations and Events for Valero Energy, where she oversees all activities of the Valero Energy Foundation, as well as Corporate Sponsorships, Valero Volunteerism, and the Corporate Events planning team. Prior to this role, Ms. Vaccaro served for 12 years as Executive Director of Learning Education and Development for Valero, where she provided oversight for all leadership development and E-learning initiatives, as well as general professional development strategies for Valero’s 11,000+ employees throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Aruba. Prior to Valero, she worked for 12 years in the health-care industry, gaining extensive management experience in marketing and public relations, events and project management, physician relations and finance/operations. In addition, Ms. Vaccaro served five years as an adjunct faculty member for University of the Incarnate Word, teaching Management and Marketing curriculum.

An active member of the San Antonio community, Ms. Vaccaro is committed volunteer and a proud alumnus and former steering committee member of Leadership San Antonio (Class 35, Class 37). She also currently serves on the National Board of Directors for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and the Executive Committee for the Board of Trustees for the South Central Region of the National MS Society. She has been fortunate to serve in a variety of community leadership roles, both inside and outside of Valero. Past affiliations include serving as Vice President of Marketing for the SA American Society for Training and Development, and the American Diabetes Association.

A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Ms. Vaccaro is now happy to call San Antonio home with her husband, Ricardo, and four dogs, Maggie, Milo, Bogie and Cosmo. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Gannon University, and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of the Incarnate Word.
