Otis L. Scott, Jr., known to many as “Scotty”, is the Assistant Director for Career Services – Employer Relations at The University of Texas San Antonio (UTSA). He has worked in various Human Resource roles throughout his career. He served our country in the U.S. Air Force for 24 years, the San Antonio community for 12 years at CPS Energy and now serves our next generation at UTSA to help them make their transition into the corporate world a smooth one. He holds a BS with honors from National Louis University and a dual MA with Webster University, majoring in Human Resource Development and Management.
He has served the community as President of the San Antonio Human Resource Management Association (SAHRMA), President of the San Antonio Advisory Board of the TX Diversity Council, and Texas Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Director for College Relations and Diversity & Inclusion. He serves on various Boards to include Adelante, Quickfire Consulting, and GSAAB of TXDC. He is a lifetime member of the Air Force Sergeants Association, San Antonio Human Resource Management Association (SHRM) and the Tuskegee Airmen and currently holds memberships in SHRM, National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), Southern Association of Colleges and Employers (SoACE), San Antonio Manufacturing Association, San Antonio Chamber and Helotes Chamber.
He has been recognized as SAHRMA’s 2014 “Member to Remember”, Texas Diversity Council DiversityFIRST Awardee and received the Armed Force Legion of Merit just to name a few. Giving back and serving the community is his passion.
