Mrs. Minnie L. Jones is a Public Affairs Community Relations Specialist with the 433rd Airlift Wing, Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. Mrs. Jones has 13 years of public affairs and community relations experience with the federal government and in the private sector. In the private sector, she was the National Public Relations Officer for Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., Tuskegee, Alabama, from 2009 – 2012.
In her 36-year career with the Air Force, Mrs. Jones has held a variety of positions within the Air Force Reserve.
Prior to her current position, Mrs. Jones served as an Air Reserve Technician with the 433rd Public Affairs office as the public affairs superintendent. She was responsible for developing and maintaining liaison with representatives of civilian organizations, governmental agencies to include Air Force Reserve and active-duty units, and other public sectors. She supervised the day-to-day activities of the public affairs office, and a staff of six.
Before her assignment at the 433rd AW, from 2006 to 2010, Mrs. Jones was a community relations specialist at the U.S. Army Garrison at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Prior to her move to San Antonio, Mrs. Jones was assigned to the 305th Search and Rescue Squadron at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona, from 2001 to 2004. From 2001-2003, she held dual positions of public affairs and protocol officer. Later, she retrained into the Aviation Resource Management career field, where she became the Operations Superintendent from 2003-2004.
From 1980 to 2000, after graduating from Basic Military Training at Lackland, Air Force Base, Texas, Mrs. Jones was assigned to 445th Combat Logistic Support Squadron at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio for nearly two decades. While assigned there, she held three positions. From 1980 to 1983, she was an aircraft electrician. Later, she retained into the Training and Education field, where she became the unit training manager for over 200 members.
Her final assignment while there, Mrs. Jones became the Aircraft Battle Damage program manager. In that position, she was responsible for assuring the development and integration of Aircraft Battle Damage Repair teams in support of their assigned missions. She developed mobility plans, annual training plans and host tenant agreements. She prepared budget forecast estimates, analyzed the unit’s capability to perform war tasking by verifying the accuracy of the Statue of Resources and Training Systems (SORTS) reporting data.
Mrs. Jones currently pursuing dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Human Resources and Business Administration at Park University, Parkville, Missouri.
