As CEO of BOAZ Enterprises, LaTonya J. Pegues brings a wealth of experience and non-traditional solutions to BOAZ Enterprises clientele. After working in the aerospace and telecommunications industries in a variety of positions; including satellite and missions engineer, low temperature physics researcher, and communications and PR expert, she founded and started BOAZ Enterprises a training, consulting, and communications and marketing firm in the year 2000. Under her leadership, BOAZ Enterprises has provided services for clients in Africa, Asia, Europe, and throughout North America.
Current and previous clients include, Google, City of Los Angeles, Austin Independent School District, the Housing Authority of the City of Austin, Texas City Management Association (TCMA) NASA, BET, The GRAMMYs, Target, Chase Home Finance and numerous others.
She is an award winner, and is known as, “The Unconscious Bias Trainer,” LaTonya was a 2018 South by Southwest (SXSW) keynote speaker on Unconscious Bias. Her session was one of the top ten searched sessions in the interactive festival that year.
In addition, she was an Unconscious Bias panelist during the National Diversity Council ‘s conference where President Barack Obama, and General Colin Powell gave keynote addresses.
LaTonya has been an on-air radio personality in Los Angeles where she co-hosted a daily radio show. Her voice has been heard over the airwaves on countless news stories, radio commercials and interviews in the US and overseas. She currently is on the air in Austin, TX on KAZI 88.7FM, where she writes and records commercials, and is a member of the news department.
LaTonya is a strong believer in community involvement and economic empowerment. She has served as a Metro Ambassador in the Capital Metropolitan Transit Authority Metro Ambassador program, a visiting professor in the National Urban League Black Executive Exchange Program, sits on the University of Texas Club Ambassador’s Council, is a member of the SXSW Advisory Board a frequent trainer in youth STEM programs, a mentor in the Young Women of Destiny program, and is a 2011 Austin chapter NAACP Community Service Award winner.
She is a graduate of the Essentials class of Leadership Austin, and is an alumna from the Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business Executive Education in association with Google where she received their Digital Excellence Program Certification.
LaTonya is a proud graduate of Howard University, based in Washington, D.C, where she studied physics and mathematics. Her hobbies include, photography, international travel, water sports, and listening to live music.
