Cherie Wagner is a founding Member of Direct Energy’s LGBTQ Employee Resource Group, Spectrum, in their head office in Houston, TX. As Direct Energy’s Spectrum Houston co-chair for the past 2 years, and an Ally, she has partnered with national chairs and business leaders within the organization to celebrate Pride as a pivotal D&I event for Direct Energy’s employees, friends and family, and DE’s customers. In addition to diversity & inclusion work within the organization, Cherie has dedicated her personal volunteer hours over the past 10 years learning how to build diverse community building teams at the neighborhood level, that focus on holistic children and youth education & service, with an emphasis on community-powered transformation.

Cherie’s formal role at Direct Energy is in Project and Program Management, where Cherie applies her community-building skills to create successful delivery teams. Currently she is a collaborator on implementing an iterative user-centric change methodology, and looks forward to applying the learning from this effort to achieving the company’s goal of efficient and customer-focused change delivery across all transformation initiatives.

A native of upstate New York, Cherie has lived in Houston since 2001, and fully embraces her identity as a Houstonian.
