Robbyn L. Traylor, MD is a 6th generation Texan and native Houstonian. In 1997 she graduated with honors from I. H. Kempner High School then, in keeping with family tradition, matriculated to Prairie View A&M University where she earned Magna Cum Laude honors in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. After four years of medical school the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio bestowed on Dr. Traylor her medical doctorate in 2005. She was the only African American in her graduating class of nearly 200 students. Robbyn flourished as a physician during her residency in Wichita at the University of Kansas Wesley Family Medicine program. Upon completion in 2008 Dr. Traylor earned certification from the American Board of Family Medicine from which she is currently recognized as a Diplomate.
In the years after residency Robbyn gained valuable experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, hospital medicine and primary care. She found a professional home in 2014 at Next Level Urgent Care. Under the leadership of Dr. Juliet Breeze, one of Houston’s most celebrated entrepreneurs, Dr. Traylor was promoted to Medical Director and then Chief Medical Officer of what is now the largest urgent care provider in the city. Robbyn hires, trains and supervises a diverse team of more than 80 physicians and advanced practice providers. She is a certified Designated Doctor for the Texas Division of Workers Compensation and is a proud member of women focused groups like the Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce 2018-2019 Thought Leaders class, IGNITE Healthcare Network, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated.
Robbyn resides in Richmond, TX with her husband and two daughters whom she considers to be her greatest accomplishment. Dr. Traylor’s hobbies include reading, writing short stories and day dreaming about adding to a proud family legacy of achievement.
