Mrs. Qiara Suggs currently serves as the Human Resources Senior HR Business Partner/HR Director at Memorial Hermann Health System- Southwest and Sugar Land campuses. She began her career over 15 years ago as a HR Coordinator for Burnett Specialists. She quickly recognized that the Human Resources profession was her passion. With over a decade of HR expertise, directly with the Memorial Hermann System, she has supported various campuses including the Texas Medical Center, Children’s Hospital, Ambulatory Services, and Memorial Hermann Medical Group. While supporting the Sugar Land campus, Qiara played a key role as a Strategy Champion in Sugar Land’s achievement of the Texas Award for Performance Excellence and the 2016 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. In addition, she has been a key partner in supporting the hospital’s $93M expansion through various workforce planning efforts, retention and engagement initiatives. As the current Strategy Champion, she is leading the Value and Develop People Strategy Council for both the Southwest and Sugar Land campuses and continues to play a solid role in driving the Campus and System overall strategies. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University, undergraduate degree from University of Houston. She holds various leadership certifications such as Crucial Conversations and Crucial Accountability, Emotional Intelligence, Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) and Society for Human Resources Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certifications. Qiara was also recently accepted into the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce Leadership program. As such, she continues to earn her excellent reputation as a credible business partner with her clients, the community and HR teammates alike.
