Lori Blackwell serves as an Administrative Coordinator for The University of Texas Medical Branch, where she leads and supports the coordination and management of university programs for the department of University Conferences and Events. She has over 10 years of experience in all aspects of operations and administrative management leading efforts focusing on business objectives and goals, transformation, process and procedure improvements and change management. Lori also leads the recognition and engagement subcommittee of the UTMB Diversity council. As a subcommittee chair, she develops strategies and tactics for promoting multicultural engagement and awareness at the academic medical center and is Vice-Chair of the institutions’ first-ever Veterans Resource group.

Lori is a United States Navy Veteran having served in Southwest Asia. Lori also volunteers her time with the Galveston Ball High Mentoring program providing coaching, mentoring and guidance to at-risk high school students, as well as volunteering for the Galveston Meals on Wheels organization. Lori holds her Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M-Commerce.
