Regina Aikens-Waits serves as the HIV/AIDS Regional Resource Consultant for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH) Regional Resource Network Program (RRNP) for Region VI which includes: AR, LA, NM, OK and TX. Her current responsibilities include providing technical assistance, training and outreach support to government and non-government organizations on achieving the goals of the National HIV AIDS Strategy (NHAS) at the regional level and developing partnerships that specifically focus on HIV testing and stigma within minority populations. She has 20+ years of expertise in STD/HIV community outreach, research, education, disease investigation, and facilitation of behavioral intervention trainings. Ms. Waits has previous work experience with the Centers for Disease Control as a Public Health Advisor, the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center as a Research Associate and with the Urban League of Greater Dallas & North Central Texas in supervisory roles.

Ms. Waits received her Bachelors of Science from Wiley College in Marshall, Texas and currently working on her Master’s degree in Health Sciences. Originally from Chicago, Illinois she currently resides in the Dallas area with her three children
