Luis Vazquez realized the importance of his voice as a business owner, at the age of 26, during the 2013 movement to update San Antonio’s Non-Discrimination Ordinance. As he watched the community come together in support of equal rights for all, he was inspired to make a difference within the community. He became a member of the LGBT Chamber of Commerce and soon after joined the board of directors as its Events Chair.
In his role, he saw the visibility and the meaning that events brought to the community. It ignited his passion to stand up for what the organization believed and to be heard. Vazquez was encouraged to run for president because of the dedication he gave to this role. In March 2015, he was elected President of the San Antonio LGBT Chamber of Commerce. As a millennial leader, Vazquez has demonstrated and sustained commitment to the pursuit of cultural diversity and inclusion in the community and in the workplace.
Vazquez rose from local studio photographer to owner and founder of Luis Vazquez Photography in 2010. He studied Business Administration at Wayland Baptist University.
