Matthew D. Gonzalez, PhD, PMP, is the Cyber Program Director for the University of Charleston West Virginia. Prior to his role at UCWV, he served as an Associate Faculty member, Chair of the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree within the University of Incarnate Word’s (UIW) overseeing seven concentrations within the BSBA program on ground and online. He specializes, teaches, and conducts research in information technology, leadership, project management, and entrepreneurialism for such universities asHarvard, Temple. Brandeis, and Northeastern.

While working at UIW as an adjunct professor in the evenings, Dr. Gonzalez worked as an IT Developer, Systems Analyst, ITArchitect, and IT Project Manager for USAA, a global financial services provider. His lessons learned and successes at USAA in managing $10+ million dollar projects and programs provided him with the necessary experience to pursue multiple entrepreneurial endeavors to include GSI Event Production (2001), and Events Education (2004) where he founded and eventually sold each of the profitable organizations to pursue his Ph.D.

Dr. Gonzalez’s latest endeavor outside of his teaching profession is as the principal member of D.I, www.dpointi.com where he serves as a strategist for diversity and inclusion efforts for organizations desiring to measure their D&I performance.

Dr. Gonzalez earned his BBA in Information Systems from the University of Texas at San Antonio (’95), MBA from St. Mary’s University (’99), Ph.D. in Organization and Management from Capella University (’08), and MIS from Keller Graduate School (’10). Dr. Gonzalez stays active in his community where he serves his Church as an ACTS team member.
