Matthew Hirst is a senior business leader, talent strategist, and organizational psychologist. He has over 25 years of mid- to senior-level experience in operations, employee relations, organizational readiness, talent planning, organizational communications and branding, and leadership development. He currently serves as the senior director of talent, organizational development, and learning for GME, the GameStop family of gaming, mobile, and entertainment brands that includes GameStop, EB Games, Game Informer, Micromania, Simply Mac, Spring Mobile, and ThinkGeek, Zing, and GameTrust.

Matt is currently completing a Ph.D. dissertation in psychology, which studies the relationships between incongruent leader-follower decision-making styles, follower trust, and shared decision-making within a leader-member exchange. He also holds a doctoral-level specialist degree in educational leadership, a master’s degree in management, and undergraduate degrees in management and finance.

Matt and his family live in Dallas, Texas. Matt served on the board of directors for the Grief and Loss Center of North Texas for five years, is currently the president ATD Dallas, and he serves on advisory boards for the University of Texas at Dallas, Capella University, The University of Texas at Arlington, and Texas Wesleyan University. He and his wife are actively involved in dog rescue and foster and have rescued, fostered, and placed over a hundred dogs into loving homes. Matt is also a passionate advocate for adoption — he is an adoptee, his children are adopted, and he has helped many families successfully navigate the adoption process.
